Trojan Technologies was part of the silkee group, based in Bangalore. Trojan was into Security solutions.
Trojan was a client of Equitor - desperate to hire sales folks. Equitor folks found a nice bakra in me and sold the concept of a sales job using the plank -"how great marketing people were all at one point in time sales reps". I got sold - I should say - almost willingly. At Equitor I did not see a great future for myself or for the company and jumping to Trojan became a natural choice.
Trojan was fun to work - loads of freedom, Sachidanadam (we called him Sachi) was a great boss, he believed almost everything we said. Most of my fellow - colleagues at Trojan exploited this to con the gullible chap - I was an exception. I liked him because he trusted me and granted me whatever I wanted. I wanted a bike and it was there almost instantaneously. My first bike in Bangalore (in life too) was a rented Kinetic Honda. After 2 -3 months of rogering that poor bike - I desired to own a new bike. Sachi and my Mother financed 50% each. It was at Trojan where I got to fine tune my Driving skills - I used to drive the company's Omni Van almost every other day.
I helped Trojan set up Channels for its range of security products, I had assistants like Nitam, Shiji, Stanley. It was a nice place and I learnt a lot.
Trojan did not last long - predictably. Sales was bad, costs were high - R & D costs and Sales costs. The company was on its last couple of years when I Decided to move on.
Retro Look: Good memories surround the Trojan Days. I liked it there.
